History

The beginnings of HPTP go back to the year of 1984, when Manfred P. Hermann founded the company „Manfred P. Herrmann Unternehmenstreuhand und Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH“. Twelve years later, Reiner Peinelt became a partner in the firm, which then operated under the name "Herrmann + Peinelt Unternehmenstreuhand und Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH Wirtschaftsberatung". Due to the personal interest of the two partners in the art market, the firm's industry focus shifted more and more towards the cultural and creative industries. After years of continuous growth, the firm finally moved into its new offices in 2003 at what was then Kochstraße 27, which is now Rudi-Dutschke-Straße 9.

Meanwhile the history of the firm „Thiele & Plötner“  began in the 1980s. In 1986, Rainer Thiele took over the firm of an older colleague in Berlin-Zehlendorf and successfully expanded it.

When Bernd Plötner joined him as a partner in 2001, the firm „Thiele & Plötner“ was formed, which was based in Berlin-Steglitz.

In 2006 the partners of the two companies got to know each other through a network of Berlin tax advisors and decided to jointly found the "HPTP Steuerberatungsgesellschaft". With the entry of the German public auditor and tax advisor Sebastian Hinkel as fifth partner, the "HPTP Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft" was founded in 2013, in order to be able to offer auditing and audit-related consulting in the future. The service portfolio of the firm was further expanded when Robert Oschlies, attorney and tax advisor, became the sixth partner at HPTP in 2017. The today's "HPTP GmbH" therefore comprises a tax consulting company, an auditing company and a law firm.

Commitment to social initiatives

We are committed not only to our clients’ tax issues but also to social initiatives and cultural life in Berlin. That is because we are aware of the social responsibility of private companies and are more than happy to make a contribution.

For example, HPTP sponsors a flat at the Ronald McDonald House in Berlin-Wedding. It offers families with seriously ill children a temporary home.

As one of just under 40 companies, we also support the Freundeskreis der Nationalgalerie e.V. (Friends of the National Gallery) with a corporate membership.

In addition, young and established artists including their galleries benefit from our passion for collecting art.
